The three coins displayed, all of bronze, show three men who ruled the ancient Roman Empire in the first century C.E. Vaspazian, appears on the one of the large coin, while the other two coins show in profile his two sons Titus and Domitian. Titus acting as general of the imperial forces in Israel was responsible for the destruction of the Temple built by King Herod, which destryction occurred in the year 70 C.E. These are but three of the many coins specially minted to call attention to this momentus event.
