ca. 2700 B.C. This very early example of a cylinder seal shows one of the common scenes depicted on them. Here can be seenan ancient 'hero' doing battle with some fantastic creatures. Such seals were commonly worn around the neck with a string drawn though the hole bored through the length of the seal. See clay impression made from the seal.
