ca. 100 B.C. - 300 A.D.
This vessel was used like many other types to store various rare or expensive liquids. The two handles with cord would allow for it to be hung from a peg or the pointed bottom would allow for it to be wedged in the sand when no pegs were available. Interesting in design, these vessels proved quite useful to people of ancient times.
